espitz@ucsc.edu
Emily Spitz (she/her) is the program manager and undergraduate advisor for Creative Technologies. She earned a BM in Music Education from New York University, and an MPhil in Music Studies (specializing in musicology) from the University of Cambridge. Prior to coming to UCSC, Emily worked in advising and recruitment at UCLA.
Emily loves guiding students to the many pathways available to them after graduation, and helping them seek ways to lay the groundwork for their future success during their undergraduate years. This includes getting to know her students and introducing them to high-impact opportunities, such as internships, jobs, study abroad, relevant trainings, and more. She is particularly interested in minimizing barriers to degree completion and making education more accessible for all.
In her free time, Emily plays flute in a local wind ensemble, plays online games with friends, and can be spotted traipsing around LA’s Koreatown in search of the best all-you-can-eat barbecue.
